Ø      वसन्त ऋतु में भारीअम्लीयस्निग्ध और मधुर आहार का सेवन व दिन में शयन वर्जित है।

Ø     वसन्ते भ्रमणे पथ’  वसंत ऋतु में खूब पैदल चलना चाहिए। व्यायाम कसरत विशेष रूप से करना चाहिए।

Health Care in the Spring (Vasant) Season - Sant Shri AsharamJi Bapu
  1. Recommended Diet: Seasoned barley, wheat, green grams, sesame oil, Trichosanthes Dioica, amorphophallus, horse radish, fennel, fenugreek, eggplant (aubergine), fresh and tender radish, ginger are good in this season.
  2. Insalubrious diet: One should avoid foods that are difficult to digest, cold, sour, unctuous and sweet substances like jaggery, curd, tomato, spinach, great pumpkin, cucumber, musk-melon, water melon, banana, plums, dates, coconut, jackfruit, figs, Bael (Bengal vaince), sugarcane juice, almond, cashewnuts and other dry fruits, sweets, milk products (like kheer, sweets, ice-cream, milk-shakes etc.).

  1. Recommended Diet: Foods that are cold in potency, easily digestible, astringent, bitter and sweet . Butter, candied sugar, sathi, wheat, barley, moong, Trichosanthes Dioica, Parval, great pumpkin, sweet (white) gourd (petha), Ribbel Luffa (Torai), Amaranthus (Chaulai), petha i.e.white gourd-melon (Benincasa Cerifera), Lauki, spinach, carrots, amla, figs, ripe bananas, rose apple, sweet lemon, apple, sugarcane, cumin, coriander and aniseeds are salubrious foods.
  2. Cow's milk, ghee, kheer, raisins and black grapes are especially recommended foods in this season.

अब जाड़ों के दिन हैं, सर्दी की शिकायत होगी, खांसी व कफ की शिकायत होगी l दायें नथुने से श्वास लिया और रोका l एक से सवा मिनट श्वास रोका और मन में जप करो "नासे रोग हरे सब पीरा, जपत निरंतर हनुमंत बीरा" l फिर बायें नथुने से श्वास निकाल दो l जिसको सर्दी है तो ४ से ५ बार करें, ज्यादा नहीं l लेकिन सूखी खांसी हो तो वे लोग ये प्राणायाम ना करें l सूखी खांसी में घी के मालपुए बनाकर दूध में डूबा दो l २ घंटे तक डूब जाएँ, फिर वो मालपुए खा लो l सूखी खांसी में आराम होगा l

Spring Season - Diet and Mode of Living

In this season, one should not take heavy, fatty, sour and sweet foods, and should take easily digestible, dry, bitter, astringent and pungent items like parched rice, roasted grams, barley, mung beans, fenugreek, bitter gourd, radish, Soanjana (Moringa oleifera Lamk), amorphophallus campanulatus (sooran), fresh turmeric, ginger, black pepper, dried ginger, etc.

  1. One should take sour, salty and sweet foods.
  2. Heavy diet, nutritious and rich in calories, made from ghee and oil, should be consumed more.
  3. Seasonal fruits and vegetables, milk, ghee, butter, jaggery, dates, sesame, dried coconut, dry fruits.
  4. One should take rich invigorating and nutritious preparations like Uradpaak, Salampaak, Saunthpaak, Chyawanpraash, etc.
  5. Insalubrious diet: One should avoid foods that are dry, bitter, astringent, stale and light.
